Das Ohr Abkauen: The Podcast for GRMN 8803

During Dr. Britta Kallin's "Post-Wall German Cinema" course in the spring of 2020, we screened and analyzed nearly two dozen of Germany's premiere films from the post-reunification period. These films dealt with a number of themes in the following categories: GDR and Ostalgie, Multiculturism in Germany, Racism in Germany, National Socialism, LGBTQIA Rights/
Gender, and Refugees and Asylum-Seekers in Germany.

One of our assignments during the course was creating a podcast with a focus on the film Fremde Haut from director Angelina Maccarone. I chose to concentrate on the subject of sexual orientation as a reason for fleeing a country, which is embodied in the film through the main character of Fariba. The podcast is in German and further demonstrates my German-speaking abilities.
