My name is Cassidy Chreene Whittle and I am a Master's student in the Global Media and Cultures - German program at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia.

Experiencing the German language and culture firsthand allowed me to fall so deeply in love with both that I never stopped being an ambassador for German-American relations. I paired my passion for German with my drive for journalism at university and graduated with a dual-major in April 2016 from the University of West Georgia, completed an internship with the DAAD in New York, participated in the Fulbright Berlin Capital Program for Young Journalists, and worked in the Bundestag as a fellow with the International Parliamentary Stipend.

While at the Bundestag, I had the distinct honor to intern in the office of Dr. Bärbel Köfler, Federal Commissioner for Human Rights and Humanitarian Aid.

My current role at the Goethe-Zentrum Atlanta also allows me to connect with the German language and culture on a daily basis. Currently, I serve as the Interim Executive Director and am eager to initiate technological progress in the organization to adapt to the current global situation.

This website was created as part of my Global Media and Cultures degree research project.  This project directly relates to my professional goals of working in a photo department of a news agency and gives me first-hand experience in analyzing the ethical and moral decisions of photo editors in relation to published photographs. I'd like to dedicate this website to my late grandfather, whose constant support of my many endeavors allowed me to become the woman he already saw me as.

Thank you for visiting and I hope you enjoy my research!
